Representing a new genre of entrepreneur Mr Aziz Al Kaiser Tito is a successful industrialist with an appreciable acumen and a vision of great proportion. A caring parentage and an enterprising family upbringing helped him sharpen his leadership skills and qualities from childhood. Having completed graduation in business management from London, Mr Kaiser joined his family business. Within a short time, he helped to lead the group to a major spell of diversity that contributed to the Group’s surge forward with strong corporate governance. He also contributed to the implementation of the Group’s major investment from grassroots to completion of the projects and made Partex a household name in the country.
As a venture among a very few local entrepreneurs of the early 1960s Partex Group kept on flourishing with its quality and commitment under the visionary leadership of the Group’s Founder Chairman M.A. Hashem. In 2006, Partex Star Group evolved as a completely separate entity by incorporating the Group’s major companies and industrial units bringing them under the new entity – The Partex Star Group entity. Partex Star Group owns diversified businesses like diverse types of Boards (Particleboard, Veneered Board, Melamine Faced Chip Board, Plywood, PVC sheet, Gypsum Boards), Cables, Doors, Adhesives, Furniture, Apparels etc. Besides the Group has stakes in Agro, Real Estate, Distribution and Logistics. Also, the Group has its presence in service sectors through associate companies that include Banking, Leasing, Insurance and Telecommunications.
Mr Kaiser’s special emphasis was on the group’s flagship company, Star Particle Board Mills Limited. Under his outstanding leadership, foresight and dedication, he led the group to a major spell of diversity and fortification within a brief period by launching new genre industrial units. He added more value to the group’s surge with more corporate stakes in banking, insurance, shipping, apparel and capital market. The operations of Partex Star Group have always contributed to Bangladesh’s growth in industrialization and GDP. At present, Aziz Al Kaiser holds the chairman position of The City Bank Ltd. He has been elected the chairman of the bank for a second term in 2018.
Within a very short span of time, he has added numerous values to the organization. One of those is the launch of dedicated women banking business division – ‘City Alo’. With City Alo, the bank is trying to ensure that every woman in Bangladesh will have access to financial products and services. During his current tenure, the bank has secured some international awards due to its performance. Some of those are ADB’s Leading Partner Bank Award in 2020, Asia money’s Best Bank for Premium Services award in 2019, and Syndicated Loan of the Year Bangladesh Award 2019’ by Asian Banking & Finance. Earlier, he was also Vice-Chairman of the back for five years and later in 2007, he was elected as Chairman of the bank and served in that position till 2011. At that time, As Chairman, he led the bank’s transformation from a traditional institution to technology and growth-driven one. He played a key role in introducing American Express cards in the Bangladesh market and opening brokerage and merchant bank subsidiaries of the bank. He is also credited with launching City Gem, the Priority Banking arm of City bank and the first International Airport Lounge in the private sector for bank cardmembers. He also led the bank’s brand identity changeover project in 2008. Kaiser is a prominent entrepreneur who manages businesses in diverse sectors including manufacturing, service and trading concerns. He is a Director of Partex Star Group and Chairman & Managing Director of several Partex Star Group subsidiaries. He is also the Chairman of City Bank’s subsidiary in Malaysia – CBL Money Transfer Sdn. Bhd. which has rolled out 11 branches under his leadership.
Mr Aziz Al Kaiser was a National Team Manager of Bangladesh’s historical Inaugural Test Cricket and lent his dynamic credence to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in top management capacities like its Adviser, Vice President, Director and Chairman of the Committee for Marketing and Commercial.
Mr Kaiser’s passionate interest has contributed greatly to a convening number of sports events on a national scale. Partex Sporting Club has been running with his finance since its inception in 1997, and he is the President of this club. This club participates in Dhaka Premier Division League and contributes to the country by creating numerous outstanding cricket players every year. Moreover, he is involved with many welfare organizations e.g., Lions Club of Dhaka Oriental, Dhaka Club, Gulshan Club, Uttara Club and Kurmitola Golf Club. He is the President of the Noakhali Diabetic Association and M.A Hashem Diabetic Hospital. He is also the Chairman of Governing Body of M.A Hashem University College.
