Mr. Faridur Reza Sagar was born on 22 February 1955. His mother Rabeya Khatun is renowned fiction writer Rabeya Khatun. Father ,Fazlul Haque is the editor of Bangladesh’s first film magazine ‘Cinema’ and the producer of the country’s first children’s film ‘President’ . The family’s cultural background has influenced his personality since childhood. He spent his school life in St. Gregory’s School and Tejgaon Polytechnic High School in Dhaka and his college Notre Dame College in Dhaka.
In 1965,the talented Mr. Faridur Reza Sagar played the lead role in the country’s first children’s film ‘President’ as a child artist. His practice of children’s literature also started from the teenage years. Until now, he is engaged in the practice of children’s literature. As a teenager, he first joined Shishu Kishor organization Central Kachikachhar Mela and later Chander Hat. Since 1965, when the journey of television started in Bangladesh, he has participated in various programs suitable for children and teenagers. Later, he was associated with the planning of various programs and the production of books. He was the presenter of various TV programs.

As a result of being involved in organizational activities since his teenage years, he has had the opportunity to come close to many different people.He gained the liberal perspective while working through the process. Apart from being a judge of the famous television show ‘Natun Kundi’, he was also involved in various organizational activities. In the 1990s, he was associated with Bangladesh Open University and made a special contribution in creating educational programs through audio-visual.
In addition to practicing martial arts, he took up business as a profession at a young age. He is an example of success in business. Currently he is the director of Impress Group. From this field also he participated in various important national cultural activities. Various kinds of honors are arranged for eminent artists and writers. Many cultural initiatives of Bangladesh have been successful due to his experienced guidance. He always prioritizes the national interest in business. Always take initiative in increasing national glory. In addition to practicing children’s literature, he regularly writes on various topics in newspapers. He is one of the members of the board of directors of children’s magazine ‘Toitumbur’.
He is also a major entrepreneur in the film industry of the country. More than 60 films have been produced from his production company. There is no evidence of a single production company producing so many films in Bangladesh! He has won many awards for his contribution to literature and film. In 2004, he received the Bangla Academy Award for his overall contribution to children’s literature.In 2005 and 2010, he received the Agrani Bank Sishu Sahitya Award of Bangladesh Shishu Academy.In 2005, he won the Euro Children’s Literature Award.

Also received Bangladesh Film Journalists Association Award (Bachsus), Tenasinus Medal (1998), Cultural Reporters Award, National Film Award. His produced films have been awarded as best films in 2000, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Romena Afaz Memorial Medal and many other awards at national level. In 2008, Hiralal Sen received the medal at the Dui Bengal Film Festival held in Kolkata. Also received Kalakar-Award 2006 from Kolkata. His film Maner Manhoot won the National Film Award of India in 2011.
He has had the opportunity to travel most of the countries in the world. In the light of that experience, he did not write many travelogues in the conventional sense, but he made travel one of the mainstays of his literature.
The creativity of this writer, who has many innovative abilities in children’s literature, memoirs, journals and personal writings, is still going strong. So this incompleteness of his biography is a natural thing.
