Jashim Uddin is currently the Vice Chairman of Bengal Group of Industries, RTV, President of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA), Managing Director, Designer Jeans Ltd., Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI).
Jashim Uddin is one of those entrepreneurs who by dint of his merit and self-confidence have been boosting country’s trade industries with robustness despite innumerable impediments. He has brought Bengal Group of Industries to the limelight of the world standard through his skills, perseverance, consistency and honesty. This widely acclaimed personality in the country’s industrial sector not only enlightens his own industries but also brought the country’s Plastic Industry to a height of economical growth. This meritorious business personality of the country was born on January 01, 1965 at Nareshwar Village under Sonaimuri Police Station of Noakhali district. His father late Al-hajj Idris Miah was a social service provider. Jashim completed his graduation in Business Studies and later entered into business. This young and self-confident gentleman in a very short period of time consolidated his position in the plastic sector. He ensures, through his sincere and regular experiments, that his sector becomes a very crucial industry in context to the country’s economic uplift.
The contribution of Jashim Uddin is immense in the continued onward journey of country’s plastic industries. Since 1983 as a Director of Bengal Group of Industries in which he was fully involved earned business acumen in this industry.
He carries 30 years of business experience with specialized knowledge in polymers and Cast Polyester technology. His indomitable exuberance and relentless Endeavour could make wide spread of business of Bengal Group of Industries. This Group includes among others, Bengal Plastics Ltd., Bengal Overseas Corporation Ltd., Bengal Adhesive and Chemicals Products Ltd., Romania Food & Beverage Ltd., Bengal Poly Paper Sack Ltd., Bengal Concept & Holdings Ltd., Designer Jeans Ltd., Bengal Poly Pack Ltd., Bengal Polymer & Wares Ltd., Bengal Plastic Pipes Ltd., Bengal Corrugated Carton Industry Ltd., Bengal Spinning & Weaving Ltd., Bengal Hyper Market Ltd., Bengal; Windsor Thermoplastic Ltd. and Bengal Teletalk Ltd.
Jashim is still bent on working relentlessly to spread out the empire of his Group. He dreams of a prosperous Bangladesh which is reflected in his appearance. He thinks it is only industrialization to take this underdeveloped country to the threshold of development.
Because of high density of population of this country, labour-intensive industries are to be set up, which will reduce unemployment as the well as bolster country’s economy.
Bengal Group of Industries has attained the position of largest industrial concern as a manufacturer of country’s plastic items. Products of this industry are being exported overseas in huge quantities which bring much valued foreign currencies. The wide business success of this Group has a very positive impact on national economy. That’s why he was honored with CIP status in 2008-2009 and 2010-2011 Fiscal Year by the Government.
The company have received the Prime Minister’s National Export Trophy Silver Award in 1997-98 and Gold Medal in 2000-2001 Fiscal Year. He was elected President for seven times of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) by the entrepreneurs in this sector in order to add further dynamism in the industry.
He is life member of Noakhali Samity in Dhaka.
His contribution to country’s media world is also huge. Bengal Plastic Industries Ltd. received the Best Enterprise Award-2007 from DHL and The Daily Star. This acclaimed entrepreneurs has a special train in life, he is a fag-sighted person and undaunted to face any challenge.
He was born in a business family, a mindset of begin visionary is discernible in him, along with this he has steadfastness to work. Transparency, Accountability and Commitment are the philosophies of his life. These qualities have crowned him with success as a leader in business community. This business personality did not engross himself with business and making profit only. On the contrary, he has stamped his foot print for the welfare of the society. He has Jashim Uddin Kindergarten at Sonaimuri and Morshed Alam High School. He has extended his support and cooperation in establishing School, Mosques and Madrasas in Noakhali district. He extended financial cooperation to poor students for their education. In many ways he helps the poor people of his locality. He says no one can live a nice life alone in this beautiful world rather we need to create a beautiful world with all around us.
